Meet Jiayi Pan, a junior majoring in Statistics and Economics. He first heard about the ATLAS Internship Program through an Economics newsletter and joined to gain experience in business process analysis while developing his communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. As an intern with the business process improvement team, Jiayi has been using a tool called FormBuilder to build forms that allow clients to digitize and automate their administrative processes.
At present, Jiayi is working on the KCPA receipt/invoice submission portal, which will enable faculty to submit receipts and invoices for travel and non-travel expenses. This is replacing what was previously done by hand via paper. It is expected that this process will have hundreds of users.
Through the ATLAS program, Jiayi has developed his written and verbal communication abilities as well as enhanced his ability to solve problems and actively participate as a member of a team.
Jiayi enjoys learning and is currently researching financial technology.
Upon graduation, Jiayi would like to obtain a position as either a data analyst or business analyst at a tech company.
