Abhi Selvam Babu, a junior majoring in Statistics, joined the ATLAS Internship Program to gain firsthand experience in a professional setting, where he could apply his academic knowledge to real-world tasks. Discovering the internship through department emails and recommendations from friends, he served as a Business Process Improvement (BPI) Intern for ATLAS. In this role, he focuses on learning and implementing BPI techniques, with responsibilities that include creating online forms to collect and manage data for various campus organizations. His weekly tasks involve collaborating with his supervisor and fellow interns to provide updates and discuss project progress. 

Through the internship, Abhi has developed both technical and soft skills. He gained proficiency with Microsoft Visio and FormBuilder, essential tools in business process improvement. Additionally, he enhanced his problem-solving abilities and improved his communication skills by working closely with teammates on shared goals. Abhi values the real-world relevance of the projects he's undertaken, which mirror professional workflows and expectations in the workforce. 

Abhi is interested in data science roles, particularly as a data scientist or analyst. He hopes to work in fields related to sports or recreation, combining his analytical skills with his personal interests. Outside his professional pursuits, Abhi enjoys watching movies, with Inception standing out as his all-time favorite.
