Aditi Cherukuri

Aditi Cherukuri is a junior majoring in Brain and Cognitive Science. She heard about the ATLAS Internship Program through department emails and newsletters. Aditi decided to join the program because she wanted to contribute to an environment where technology, creativity, and collaboration drive meaningful work. She viewed the program as an opportunity to further develop her technical skills and deliver reliable solutions to clients, which aligned closely with her past experiences in research, consulting, and organizational leadership.

Aditi works as a Web Development Intern for the Cline Center for Advanced Social Research, Data Explorers, and ATLAS. Her main responsibilities include redesigning and updating the ATLAS Spotlight webpage to accurately showcase recent intern cohorts and better highlight the experiences of past interns. She is also restructuring the Cline Center SPOTLITE website by improving information architecture and page layouts, as well as designing and developing a new website for the UIUC Data Explorers interest group to centralize resources and streamline communication.

Through her internship, Aditi gained hands-on experience with WordPress and Drupal content management, website accessibility auditing using WCAG guidelines, SEO, information architecture, and user-centered web design. She also improved her soft skills by practicing prompt and professional communication, team collaboration, organizational task management, and taking initiative to supplement her assigned tasks.

In the future, Aditi hopes to build a career at the intersection of technology, human behavior, and business. She aspires to develop technologies that help people with cognitive, neurological, and learning disabilities successfully navigate day-to-day life in educational and workplace settings. A fun fact about Aditi is that she loves to sing; she has been training since age 5 and writes and performs her own original songs.
