Akhilasri Arla is a junior majoring in Brain and Cognitive Science with a double major in Econometrics. She heard about the ATLAS Internship Program at a career fair. Akhilasri decided to join the program to gain professional experience and build foundational skills in bridging the gap between business and marketing with data. She currently serves as a Communications Intern Trainee for the Northern Champaign County Community Service Center. Her primary responsibilities include consistently posting on their social media accounts, creating social media graphics, and making changes to the organization's website.
During her internship with ATLAS, Akhilasri gained technical skills by learning more about graphic design and working with WordPress. She also developed soft skills, including problem-solving, adaptability, and time management. Managing multiple social media channels came with technological challenges that she was able to solve using the skill set she gained throughout this experience.
In the future, Akhilasri plans to build a career as an analyst, though she is still exploring specific fields to focus on, including marketing and finance. A fun fact about Akhilasri is that she is featured on the Edikted Instagram!
