Meet Ally Wang, a junior majoring in Statistics & Computer Science. She decided to join the ATLAS Internship Program to gain more work experience and enhance her communication skills. Now in her second semester as an intern, Ally works with the ATLAS Web Development Team as a Web Development Intern. In this role, she has been responsible for creating her own personal WordPress website, researching web accessibility, and developing accessibility reports and recommendations for faculty websites. Through these projects, Ally learned how to use WordPress to design and manage web content, gaining valuable technical experience in web development. She also strengthened her communication, time management, and teamwork skills by collaborating with others and sharing her findings in a professional environment. One key lesson Ally has taken from her internship is the importance of building accessible websites and understanding how thoughtful design choices can make online content more inclusive for everyone. Her time with ATLAS has allowed her to see how technology can directly improve accessibility and user experience across campus. In the future, Ally plans to pursue a career in software development, with a focus on web technologies and data-driven applications. Outside of work, she loves watching science fiction movies, and Interstellar is one of her favorites.
