Ashley Kim is a junior majoring in BMUS Open Studies with minors in Legal Studies and Anthropology. She joined the ATLAS Internship Program after browsing the website for campus-wide opportunities. She saw it as a stepping stone to explore different internships and develop new skills.

As a Communications Specialist for the UIUC Neuroscience Program, Ashley manages weekly newsletters, collaborates with team members, and updates the program website. Through this role, she gained technical skills in graphic design, presentation, and organization, as well as soft skills in collaboration and communication.

Ashley’s experience with ATLAS gave her valuable insights into teamwork and planning, essential for her future career. Her long term goal is to attend law school and specialize in Copyright and Patent or Immigration Law.

Outside of academics, Ashley has studied the violin for 13 years, performing with ensembles like the St. Louis Youth Symphony Orchestra. In her free time, she enjoys melodramas, comedy series, reading, writing, and dancing.
