He learned about the ATLAS Internship Program through departmental emails and newsletters and decided to join to gain experience working in an organization related to his major. He is also interested in data science, which aligns with his future career goals.
Austin is an LMS Specialist intern with the ATLAS Internship Program. He is responsible for writing the syllabus for the Skills Tracks course, selecting appropriate Python content, developing modules, and creating narratives for the course to enhance workflow and simulate a real-world work environment rather than a traditional classroom setting. Through these experiences, Austin has gained technical skills in narrative writing, Excel, and data visualization in Tableau. He has also strengthened his time management and communication skills.
From his internship experience, Austin has learned the importance of being prepared for meetings and reports, as well as the value of thorough documentation. He plans to pursue a career in the data science field and is also working toward an Econometrics major, a Spanish minor, and a Data Science minor. His favorite movie is Sinners, which he appreciates for its beautiful soundtrack and impressive cinematography.
