Bobby Hahn is a senior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He heard about the ATLAS internship program through department emails and newsletters and decided to join ATLAS to gain real-world experience in a professional setting while sharpening his communication skills. He saw the program as a unique opportunity to work with a campus organization in a role that bridges creativity and strategic thinking, aligning with his future career goals.

Bobby works as a Communications Specialist intern for the Non-Tenure Faculty Coalition (NTFC). He is responsible for conducting a full communications audit of NTFC’s internal and external messaging, analyzing member data to segment communication strategies by department and affiliation, and drafting professional correspondence and reports for NTFC leadership.

Through his internship, Bobby has gained technical skills in data analysis using Excel and Google Sheets, professional document design in Word, and conducting communication audits. He has also strengthened his soft skills in communication, professional writing, client collaboration, project planning, and independent problem-solving.

From his experiences, Bobby has learned that clear and consistent communication is essential when working with diverse stakeholders. Whether he is strategizing, messaging, or analyzing member data, he understands that clarity builds trust and drives impact. He has also learned the importance of presenting technical or organizational data in a way that tells a meaningful story. After graduating, Bobby plans to pursue a career that combines science and communication, potentially through an MBA or a role in data-driven consulting. In his free time, Bobby enjoys listening to music and watching TV—especially shows with great soundtracks.
