Clarissa Segura

Clarissa Segura is a junior majoring in Communication at the University of Illinois. Currently in her first semester with the ATLAS Internship Program, she joined after learning about it through departmental newsletters, hoping to gain valuable hands-on experience in online marketing—a field she’s passionate about pursuing. As a Digital Communications Specialist for the ATLAS team, Clarissa has been creating engaging social media content for the internship program. One of her projects included producing a “Meet the Digital Communications Team” video for Instagram and Facebook, where team members introduced themselves and shared their favorite campus food spots. She also contributes by developing regular posts for events, spotlights, and fun campus-based posts, while managing content planning using AirTable. Through her internship, Clarissa has developed technical skills in video editing and graphic design, such as using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. She’s also strengthened her soft skills, particularly in communication and presentation, by participating in weekly progress presentations and collaborating effectively with her team. One key takeaway from her internship is understanding the power of consistent content and media analytics in building engagement. Looking ahead, Clarissa aspires to work in online marketing, helping companies grow through impactful digital content. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, reading, and watching her favorite movie, “Another Cinderella Story” with Selena Gomez.
