Clarissa Segura is a senior majoring in Communication and has worked as an ATLAS intern for two semesters. She heard about the program through department emails and newsletters and decided to join in Spring 2025 to gain hands-on experience in online marketing. Clarissa thoroughly enjoyed her first semester in the program and is continuing to work with ATLAS to strengthen her experience with various social media software and tools.
Clarissa is a Communications Specialist intern on the ATLAS Communication Team and is responsible for creating goals to increase social media reach using Meta Business Suite. This has resulted in an almost twofold increase in reach. She has also filmed and edited a “This or That” technical questions video for the ATLAS Instagram and Facebook Reels, where she interviewed people on the quad, and she created an Instagram and Facebook story poll on “2 Truths and a Lie” to boost engagement.
Clarissa has gained technical skills in video editing and graphic design, editing Instagram Reels, and using Canva to create content. She is also learning to use digital marketing tools such as Meta Business Suite and Airtable to schedule content for ATLAS’s social media platforms. Clarissa has developed presentation and communication skills through weekly progress meetings and regular communication with supervisors on Teams and in person.
Through her internship, Clarissa has come to appreciate the importance of soft skills such as presentation and communication, which are valuable for her future career goals. She plans to pursue a job in online marketing, creating social media content to help companies increase revenue and engagement. When she’s not working on digital marketing, Clarissa enjoys listening to audiobooks, crocheting, and watching sitcoms.
