Elisabeth Duka

Meet Elisabeth Duka, a senior majoring in Anthropology who’s now in her second semester with the ATLAS Internship Program. Elisabeth first joined the internship during the summer of 2024 after hearing about it from friends and classmates. Looking to expand her skillset and explore new professional challenges, she’s currently interning with the Student Money Management Center (SMMC) as a Communications Specialist. Elisabeth’s work centers around content creation and strategy. From crafting digital media like newsletters and social posts to helping the team implement a structured content plan, she’s been instrumental in shaping the SMMC’s outreach. With an emphasis on accessibility and branding, Elisabeth also took on a leadership role in ensuring all content followed accessibility guidelines—an essential component of inclusive communication. Collaborating with the data team, she analyzed engagement trends and tailored messaging to better connect with students and families. Throughout her internship, Elisabeth gained hands-on experience using tools like Canva, Hootsuite, Microsoft Teams, Trello, Box, and Email+. She also sharpened her skills in professional communication, collaboration, and digital content creation—all vital for future roles. A major takeaway for her has been the surprising depth of student financial literacy topics, from investing to unclaimed property to the emotional side of money and relationships. Looking ahead, Elisabeth plans to pursue a Master’s degree building on her Health Technology certificate or Public Health minor, aiming for a career in healthcare. In her downtime, you can find her painting, baking, watching anime with friends, or wandering Green Street in search of new eats and hidden gems.
