Ethan Chen is a junior double-majoring in Economics and Statistics. He has spent two semesters in the ATLAS Internship Program, working as a Data Analysis Specialist for the ATLAS Data Team. Ethan first learned about the program through friends and classmates, but chose to stay after his first semester because the experiences he had were those that allowed him to grow his specialized professional skills.

Ethan focuses on improving his data analysis and business process improvement abilities through practical opportunities provided by ATLAS. His role involved creating interactive dashboards using Tableau, which enhanced his understanding of data management and the logic behind various data sets. He also developed key soft skills, particularly in teamwork and communication, by collaborating with colleagues and reporting on project progress.

One key lesson Ethan gained from the internship is the ability to independently learn and solve problems, especially when faced with challenges in understanding data sets. He acknowledges that errors and setbacks are part of the process but is determined to overcome them and find solutions.

Looking ahead, Ethan plans to apply his theoretical knowledge in real-world market projects and pursue postgraduate studies in data or business analysis. He aims to combine technology and business insights to support companies through data-driven strategies, with a particular interest in contributing to projects in finance or healthcare.

Outside of academics and work, Ethan likes traveling, photography, and hiking. Along with his previous aspirations, he also plans on exploring all the forest parks in the United States. Good luck Ethan!
