Eyerus Chekole, a senior majoring in Economics with a minor in Business, joined the ATLAS Internship Program to enhance her skills in data analysis, communication, and technology. During Eyerus’s role in the ATLAS Business Process Improvement Team, she focused on modernizing administrative tasks by creating digital forms on FormBuilder and making historically paper-based processes more efficient. She also presented her work weekly, allowing her to gain confidence in public speaking and improve her presentation skills.
Eyerus developed technical expertise in FormBuilder, learning how to design forms that could serve various departments at the University of Illinois. This experience in form creation taught her to consider the needs of both the submitter and reviewer, enhancing her approach to user-centric design. The internship also helped her build strong time management and teamwork skills, as she collaborated on weekly projects with her peers.
Looking ahead, Eyerus aspires to work as an analyst, whether in data analysis, financial analysis, or a related field in business. She hopes to use the skills and confidence gained from her internship to navigate her career after college successfully. In her personal life, Eyerus is proud of her journey with English as her second language.
