This is Faith Han, she’s a junior majoring in Statistics and Computer Science who’s spent her first semester at the ATLAS Internship Program working as a Website Content Specialist for her client: TeacherCare Now. Faith heard about the program though her friends and classmates and decided to participate in order to build career experience related to her majors in preparation for the future. She believes that this internship was a valuable chance to get firsthand knowledge of what working in her field would really be like.
Faith’s responsibilities during her internship included working on her client’s website to increase the load performance and providing website designs to improve website organization. Through this internship, she gained proficiency in Wordpress which allowed her to build and manage websites even better. Naturally, she also learned greater website improvement strategies. Faith also came to a deeper understanding of the importance of clear communication between her team and the client, realizing that mutual understanding of the goals in mind are key to achieve successful outcomes.
In the future, Faith plans to focus on working in fields related to her major, having a particular interest in Artificial Intelligence and data analysis. Through pursuing these fields she wishes to bridge the gap between theory and practice, allowing her to see how these technologies operate in real-life situations.
