Grace Yoo is a sophomore majoring in English who joined the ATLAS Internship Program after learning about it through department emails and newsletters. She wanted to gain hands-on experience in technical writing, which led her to take on the role of Communications Specialist intern for the Non-Tenured Faculty Coalition.
During the internship, Grace was responsible for planning and writing informative Instagram posts on the union’s history and important terminology, simplifying technical content for broader audiences, and coordinating with team members to prepare filmed faculty testimonials. She also organizes resources, schedules interviews, and crafts detailed task overviews.
Grace improved her skills in technical writing, communication, and organization. She learned to manage her time effectively by setting priorities and deadlines. Additionally, she gained valuable experience working collaboratively with her team and specialized faculty.
In the future, Grace aims to become a professional editorial editor at one of the "Big 5" publishing companies, and she is considering careers in literary agent work, technical writing, and screenwriting. In her free time, she enjoys reading webtoons.
