Ihor Salyk

Ihor Salyk is a sophomore majoring in Statistics and works with Michelle Rome as a Documentation and Training Intern. Originally, his role was as a Documentation and Training Intern, but he describes himself as more of a data-oriented programmer for this job. Throughout the internship, he has been working on creating an automated script that takes a URL from the user and outputs a visualized report of the web accessibility violations on that URL according to WCAG standards. His script is made using JavaScript using NodeJS and R to generate the visual report. He is currently compiling the data gathered from the specified URL into an Excel report and is now working on a way to feed the Excel data into his R script to generate the visual report, bringing him close to having a prototype of his application. Through his ATLAS Internship, Ihor has gained data handling, visualization, analysis, and NodeJS programming skills. In the future, he hopes to work as an analyst, specifically an Operations Research Analyst. Fun fact: He's been playing the city-builder game Against the Storm, and likes it surprisingly. You start with a small number of animal settlers and build their civilization up!
