Jason Li, a senior majoring in Statistics and Computer Science, rejoined the ATLAS Internship Program this semester after a rewarding experience last term. Initially assigned to different teams, his interest in data analysis and machine learning led him to return and join the ML and AI team in fall 2024, where he worked on a predictive model to determine the likelihood of domestic students graduating after admission at UIUC. His role involved analyzing large datasets, feature engineering, attending weekly meetings, and collaborating with teammates to ensure the project’s objectives were achieved. During Jason’s internship, he has expanded his technical expertise, particularly in Python programming, machine learning models, and feature engineering. He valued the exposure to real-world data and the practical experience, which aligned with his future goals. Jason aims to pursue a graduate degree in computer science or data science, where he hopes to apply and further enhance his technical skills. Beyond Jason's academic and professional pursuits, he enjoys gaming, with Black Myth: Wukong as his current favorite.
