Meet Jocelyn Zhou, a junior majoring in Computer Science and Economics at the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign, currently working as an Interactive Web Developer for LAS Research Faculty through the ATLAS Internship Program. In this role, she contributed to both front-end and back-end development, designed website algorithms, and supported UI/UX improvements for research exploring the economics of ride-hailing services. Through her internship, Jocelyn strengthened her technical skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and GitHub, while also improving communication, collaboration, and time management skills. One key lesson she gained is the importance of clear teamwork and shared responsibility when collaborating on complex projects. Looking ahead, Jocelyn plans to pursue a career as a software engineer or quantitative analyst—and a fun fact is that she has a cat named Popcorn!
