Meet Josy Rojas, a sophomore majoring in Math and Computer Science. He caught wind of the internship program through department emails and newsletters and decided to join this semester because it would allow him to evaluate a career in tech and gain professional workplace skills. He works as a web development intern for the ATLAS program itself. Within his role, he has specifically helped the Cline Center with operations on their website and redoing their Spotlight webpage. He also helped craft the Data Explorers website to further their outreach and spread awareness. He is also responsible for adding the new intern student spotlights to that portion of the ATLAS website. While working with ATLAS, he has gained proficiency in WordPress and Drupal. Working for the program has also helped him strengthen his time management and communication skills, and he says that strong communication between team members and supervisors is crucial for success in the workplace. In the future he hopes to enter either the data science or cybersecurity field. Additionally, he is able to solve a 6x6 Rubik’s Cube!
