Kaitlyn Chan is a senior majoring in Statistics and Computer Science. She joined the ATLAS Internship Program because its mission to solve business problems aligned with her ambition to apply her technical skills.

Kaitlyn worked as a Data Analyst for the Student Money Management Center. Her tasks included maintaining the email database by pulling reports and coding them into Excel, creating and monitoring email metrics (such as open and click rates) using Tableau, and presenting data analysis and recommendations in weekly client meetings. She also utilized machine learning algorithms to predict which email characteristics would increase engagement among different recipient groups and documented procedures (e.g., setting up dashboards, accessing accounts) for reproducibility and resource sharing.

Through her internship, Kaitlyn gained technical skills in data visualization, machine learning, and data cleaning with R, as well as soft skills like problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.

After completing her internship, Kaitlyn will work as a product analyst in Chicago. She aims to transition into a data scientist role and eventually manage a data-driven team. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting while watching action movies.
