Meet Kaytlin Hoey, a junior majoring in Statistics, currently serving as an AI Research Intern with ATLAS. She first heard about the ATLAS Internship Program through friends and classmates and decided to join to enhance her technical abilities while gaining meaningful professional experience. This semester, Kaytlin has been researching the impacts of AI across education and industry, comparing large language models, and organizing key findings into accessible resources for broader use. Throughout her internship, Kaytlin has deepened her understanding of how AI is applied in both academic and corporate contexts, while also strengthening her leadership, communication, and collaborative skills. One key lesson she is taking away from her experience is the importance of thoughtful discussion and how integrating diverse ideas can lead to stronger solutions. Looking ahead, Kaytlin hopes to combine her background in statistics and computer science to uncover meaningful patterns and insights in data. Outside of her academic and professional work, she enjoys weaving bracelets and listening to music.
