
Khushal Gentela, a senior majoring in Computer Science and Economics, joined the ATLAS Internship Program to gain real-world experience and apply his classroom knowledge to business challenges. He discovered the program through friends and classmates, finding it an ideal platform to bridge his academic learning with practical applications. As a Programmer on the ATLAS Virtual Reality (VR) Team, Khushal has been actively involved in developing virtual reality games using Unity for the Oculus Quest 2, collaborating closely with fellow VR interns to contribute to existing VR projects.
During Khushal’s internship, he has gained both technical and soft skills. He developed expertise in Unity, C#, Git, Tableau, and Blender, along with improving his presentation and communication skills. His first internship with ATLAS focused on building workflows, where he collaborated with a peer to develop a workflow for the ATLAS Returnee Funding process using ATLAS FormBuilder. In his current internship, he is working on VR game development, including creating a variant of a basketball game.
Khushal envisions a future career in the field of data and technology, aiming to leverage his skills to solve business problems through a combination of data and technological solutions. Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Khushal is a passionate sports enthusiast and enjoys playing racket sports such as tennis, table tennis, and badminton, which allow him to stay active and competitive.
