Kshama Tavva

Say hello to Kshama Tavva, a junior majoring in Political Science. She applied to the ATLAS Internship Program looking to push herself outside her comfort zone of academic research in order to challenge herself in a professional setting. Having had an interest in the intersection of communication and strategy, she was hopeful that the internship would enable her to experience marketing firsthand while serving a real organization. With the urging of her academic advisor, she welcomed the opportunity to craft innovative outreach initiatives and further explore how marketing can be used to drive engagement and expansion. As an Earnest Agriculture Marketing Intern, Kshama conducts a variety of activities to educate and engage the company's audience. She conducts consumer research to better understand target audiences and their needs, creates compelling marketing materials—including video scripts to educate farmers—and creates interactive social media content to disseminate resources and foster community connections. Her role requires analytical and creative capabilities, allowing her to combine research-based information with innovative outreach efforts. Through the internship experience, Kshama has gained technical skills in search engine optimization (SEO), content creation, and consumer research. She has also gained exposure to tools like Google Trends for planning campaign strategies. Besides technical skills, she has developed critical soft skills, including communication, time management, and flexibility—skills crucial to managing the fast-paced nature of marketing. Professionally, Kshama hopes to work in communications, marketing, or public affairs in the future, focusing on research-driven strategies with enduring social impact. In her free time, she can be found trying out new coffee shops and baking treats.
