Kyle Zeng is a sophomore majoring in astronomy. He found out about the ATLAS internship program through his academic advisor. He decided to join ATLAS to gain work experience for a smooth transition into his future career, as he found that ATLAS offered an excellent opportunity to familiarize himself with the structure and atmosphere of a work environment. Kyle is an LMS Designer intern working for ATLAS. His responsibilities include designing skill tracks, which are short courses for internships that teach skills. He is also tasked with completing LinkedIn training to acquire skills relevant to data analysis.

Through his internship, Kyle has acquired technical skills in utilizing Microsoft Excel and Tableau for data analysis and presentation. He has also developed his proficiency in creating new pages, announcements, and content in Canvas. Additionally, Kyle has enhanced his professional communication skills, particularly in email correspondence and time management, by adhering to his work schedule.

From his role as an ATLAS intern, Kyle has learned that there is a lot of freedom in a career, unlike in an academic setting. There isn’t one “right” solution, and people must use their creativity and logic to achieve the end goal. In the future, Kyle plans to work in an Observatory as an astronomy major or become a data analyst. Kyle enjoys playing the violin in his free time, and he has been playing for 13 years.
