Lauren Hayes is a junior majoring in Communication in her first semester with the program. She initially learned about the ATLAS Internship Program through friends and classmates and decided to join to gain internship experience while exploring potential career paths. Lauren is a social media intern for the Center for the Study of Global Gender Equity. In this role, she is responsible for creating holiday graphics for social media and designing promotional content for guest speakers, most recently Frieda Ekotto. She also creates digital signage displayed on the Lincoln Hall TVs. Through her time in the program, Lauren has developed strong graphic design skills, as her primary focus involves creating engaging promotional content. She has also strengthened her time management abilities by learning how to plan and organize content schedules to ensure timely posting. From ATLAS, she has learned the importance of working ahead to avoid unnecessary stress and workload buildup. After graduation, Lauren hopes to pursue a career working for a PR firm or as a communications director. Outside of her academic and professional interests, she enjoys reading, loves soft pretzels, and loves the movie Mitchells vs. the Machines!
