Margaret Moyar

Margaret Moyar is a freshman double majoring in History and Spanish who’s diving into her first semester as an ATLAS intern. She discovered the program through her academic advisor and was drawn to it as a way to build her resume with meaningful experience while exploring her own professional interests. Her goal? To better understand her strengths and weaknesses in a real-world setting —and maybe get a step closer to discovering the right career path for her. As a Communications Intern for the Non-Tenure Faculty Coalition (NTFC), Margaret’s work blends storytelling, design, and outreach. She edits interview clips featuring specialized faculty to share across social media platforms and helps plan events like tabling and talks to raise awareness for the NTFC on campus. She’s also focused on boosting digital engagement by brainstorming fresh ways to get students and staff involved with the coalition online. On the technical side, Margaret has grown her skills in graphic design, video editing, and marketing, along with writing for a digital audience. Just as valuable, she’s picked up soft skills in creative problem-solving, teamwork, and communication tailored to social media platforms. Her biggest takeaway so far? Creative thinking is essential when facing new challenges—especially in outreach and advocacy work. While she’s still deciding what the future holds, Margaret knows she wants to be in a career that centers around helping others and sharing information. And in her free time, she’s putting creativity to good use in another way—she’s about to finish crocheting her very first blanket!
