Olivia Yong is a senior majoring in Statistics. She joined the ATLAS Internship Program to gain practical skills and work ethics, as well as to enhance her data analytics abilities. Recommended by a professor, she became a Learning Management Specialist Intern, working to boost visibility and engagement within the ATLAS program. Olivia’s responsibilities include participating in client meetings, developing strategies to increase intern participation, and providing feedback on Canvas resources. During the internship, she developed technical skills in Excel, Tableau, and Power BI, while also enhancing her communication, teamwork, and time management. Olivia believed the ATLAS internship taught her valuable lessons in teamwork, time management, and work ethics, which she considered essential for her future career. Managing tasks such as attending meetings, submitting reports, and meeting deadlines helped her improve organizational abilities and stay on top of her duties. Olivia plans to pursue a career in data and business analysis, aiming to work with complex datasets, generate insights, and contribute to strategic decisions. She hopes to eventually lead data-driven projects and teams. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and has even started her own YouTube cooking channel.
