Prajeet Basu

Prajeet Basu is a junior majoring in Mathematics and Statistics and serves as a Data Analyst Intern with the ATLAS Data Services Team. His responsibilities include extracting data, cleaning it, and analyzing it to find trends that present problems at the University. He and his team then present the data visually to make these trends clear and help analyze the problems further. Currently, Prajeet is looking to discover why the enrollment of Native Americans at UIUC has dropped so significantly. Through his internship, he has gained technical skills with certain platforms, learned to think about data critically and analyze data effectively, improved his communication in a team setting, and developed experience creating professional reports. He hopes to pursue a career as a data analyst. Outside of work, Prajeet enjoys weightlifting, playing the piano, and reading.
