
Prithvi Vemula is a junior majoring in Statistics and minoring in Computer Science and Data Science. He joined the ATLAS Internship Program to enhance his data analysis skills and gain practical experience in real-world applications. He heard about this program through former intern classmates.
As a Communication/Marketing Intern for the Women & Gender in Global Perspectives Program (WGGP), Prithvi’s tasks include analyzing social media metrics, creating content strategies to boost engagement, and assisting with event promotions. He also managed social media content creation using tools like Canva and Qualtrics to support campaign efforts.
Through Prithvi’s internship, he gained technical skills in Python programming for data analytics, social media APIs, and graphic design with Canva. He developed a deeper understanding of data-driven decision-making and learned how to handle deadlines and manage professional tasks effectively. The internship allowed him to apply his coding knowledge practically and improve his communication and teamwork abilities while working closely with the WGGP team.
Prithvi plans to pursue a career in data science, where he can focus on data-driven solutions for social impact or business strategy. He hopes to work in tech, finance, healthcare, or public policy, using his analytical skills to inform decision-making. A fun fact about Prithvi is that his favorite movie is Interstellar, appreciating its mix of science fiction and emotional depth.
