Rana Khan is a sophomore majoring in Economics. She joined the ATLAS Internship Program to gain skills necessary for her future career and to get a good understanding of working in a professional environment. This is her first semester as an intern, and she works with ATLAS Data Services as a Data Services Intern. In this role, Rana is responsible for cleaning data from the ATLAS help desk, using visualizations to answer questions about the data, and creating additional Tableau stories and dashboards of her choosing. Through this experience, she has gained technical skills in the software Tableau, learning how to visualize and present data effectively. Rana also strengthened her soft skills in time management, teamwork, and presentation, which have helped her collaborate with others and manage her responsibilities efficiently. One important lesson she will take away from her ATLAS internship is the value of gaining hands-on experience early in her college career to better prepare for future opportunities. In the future, Rana plans to work in data or consulting, applying the analytical and professional skills she continues to develop through her coursework and internship. A fun fact about Rana is her favorite food is sushi.
