Sai Pranav Kakumanu

Sai Pranav Kakumanu is a sophomore Statistics & Computer Science major who’s in his second semester with ATLAS. Sai learned about the program from attending a career fair, and decided to join because he saw it as an opportunity to gain real-world experience in a professional setting while expanding his technical and problem-solving skills. In his first semester, Sai worked as a Business Process Improvement intern. Having gained a strong foundation in efficiency optimization and workflow design, he decided to take the next step of his journey and place as a Web Developer intern for ATLAS. There, Sai is entrusted with using WordPress to interface with Illinois-built back-end servers to update websites of different Illinois staff members. In performing his tasks, Sai has gotten proficient in building websites using both WordPress and Drupal along with his experience in using the Illinois back-end servers, which will no doubt prove to be transferable to different opportunities. He was also able to reinforce his communication, time management, and presentation skills through the experience. One lesson that Sai is taking from his time at ATLAS is the importance of adaptability and continuous learning. He learned that every project comes with unique challenges, and being open to finding new approaches to the problem is essential. Sai plans on taking his coding skills to the software or web development fields to create impactful digital solutions. Long-term, he hopes to work in a dynamic tech environment where he can contribute to innovative projects, all while growing as a developer.
