Sarah Toussaint is a senior majoring in Psychology/Sociology. She is a Communication Specialist/Accessibility Lead with the Student Money Management Center.
As a communications specialist, she creates content for the organization's social media pages and curates e-newsletters for parents, faculty, and students at the University of Illinois, across all campuses.
As an accessibility lead, she researches and tries to push best accessibility practices the organization can use to make sure all content is accessible for all patrons. She says it is important to create a space where all interactions with users are available to use without extra assistance.
Right now, she is currently creating content for X, formerly known as Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook. She is also working on a pitch to integrate America Saves Week into content the organization pushes throughout April. Independently, she is still working on accessibility best practices on different social media platforms while engaging in videos and conversations about how the organization can better itself to be inclusive on its platforms and emails.
Sarah plans to become an attorney specializing in Corporate Law.
Through her internship, she says she will take away time management skills and autonomy within her work. She is getting the confidence to curate and take action on work tasks that may not be fully assigned to her by taking initiative to begin and complete tasks.
A fun fact about Sarah is that she loves strawberry milkshakes and watching movies, specifically action movies!
