Shourya Chatterjee is a sophomore majoring in Astrophysics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an AI Research and Exploration Intern through the ATLAS Internship Program. He works on an AI engine catalog, researches prompt engineering, and develops a website to compile his team’s findings. Through this internship, Shourya has gained technical skills in research methods, data analysis, and web design, as well as soft skills in leadership, communication, and teamwork. One key lesson he has learned is the importance of being a proactive team member to guide projects effectively. Looking ahead, Shourya hopes to pursue a career as an astrophysics researcher. A fun fact: he is skilled at whistling, having performed in plays and songs in front of audiences.
