Meet Tyler Ramsay, a sophomore in LAS who joined the ATLAS Internship Program to explore web development and gain hands-on experience after feeling uncertain about his academic direction. As a Web Development Team Intern, he has built his own WordPress website, contributed to testing and managing the ATLAS website in Drupal, and begun a personal project—creating a CUMTD Bus Tracker using Python, Flask, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Through these projects, Tyler has strengthened his technical abilities in web development while also developing communication, time management, and presentation skills. One major lesson he’s taking away is the importance of proactive time management, especially when balancing coursework and internship responsibilities. Looking ahead, Tyler hopes to pursue a career in data analytics, software engineering, or finance—and he’s also a passionate dancer minoring in dance at Illinois.
