Xiaoci Peng

Meet Xiaoci Peng, a sophomore Economics major who is enjoying her first semester as an ATLAS intern. She heard about the program through her academic advisor and department newsletters, and decided to join because she wanted to gain hands-on experience that bridged her academic knowledge with real-world applications. She is working as a Business Process Improvement intern, specifically a Workflow Analyst. Xiaoci tackled many projects all relating to FormBuilder, our in-house form making system. Her projects all included the development of online forms, making them efficient and able to cover all required information that needed to be collected for each form. Each form made use of unique systems that gave her diverse experience in forms of information processing. Xiaoci got a lot of experience using the many functions of FormBuilder, such as: configuring form logic, setting up routing triggers, integrating automated email notifications, and ensuring a user-friendly experience. All this allowed her to learn how to design and structure dynamic online forms as well as enhancing her ability to troubleshoot and test to confirm functionality and accuracy. Additionally Xiaoci developed stronger professional communication skills, ensuring clarity and efficiency in her email and messaging. Finally, her ability to collaborate remotely, manage tasks efficiently, and provide timely updates on projects also increased. The most important lesson she learned from her experience is the importance of attention to detail and workflow optimization through thorough testing, proactive problem-solving, and effective collaboration in a professional setting. In the future, Xiaoci has her eyes set on becoming a banker, as her interest in developing her financial knowledge and customer service drives her to the professional banking environment. And while she’s working, you’ll be able to find her listening to her favorite albums from Taylor Swift!
