Zhuoang Tao is a junior majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics and serves as an AI Research Intern with the ATLAS Internship AI Team under Michael Scott Sommers and Michelle Rome. His responsibilities include exploring emerging AI technologies and their potential impacts, proactively participating in weekly meetings, sharing his findings during conferences, and completing specific research goals each week. Currently, Zhuoang is developing an AI-powered study assistant as an interactive website. He plans to integrate ChatGPT or other large language models (LLMs) to provide detailed explanations and quizzes for knowledge points users want to learn, as well as track student learning progress and offer personalized study suggestions based on quiz grades. Through his internship, Zhuoang has developed a strong foundation in web development with React and back-end programming in C. He has also gained experience preparing for meetings and giving presentations, which has improved his communication skills, and strengthened his teamwork skills by collaborating closely with his team members on projects. He hopes to become a data scientist in the future. Outside of work, Zhuoang enjoys playing the board game Go, which he says helps improve his decision-making and troubleshooting skills.
