Zoey Yao is a senior majoring in Statistics and Computer Science who joined the ATLAS Internship Program after discovering it on Instagram. Now in her second semester as a Data Analyst with the Data Services Team, she has created data visualizations highlighting international student demographics and help desk activity. Through this role, she strengthened her communication skills and gained hands-on experience with Tableau, broadening her understanding of data tools beyond Python and R. Zoey especially values learning how to select the right tools to clearly communicate insights. After graduation, she will continue at UIUC as a graduate student in Analytics and Statistics — and she looks forward to finally revisiting her hometown for the first time in eight years.
