Did you know that you can control the photo that shows up for you in Lync? This process requires the photo you use be publically available on the internet. A preferred campus method would be to also set your photo in the Illinois Directory. You can use Facebook and LinkedIn photos, but be aware that these systems occasionally change their rules and interfaces in a way that may break the link to your campus Lync photo.
