ATLAS SOS keeps university-owned computers running smoothly with needed software, repair supported hardware, and assistance with the purchase and set-up of new computers.

Our goal is to provide outstanding IT support to the clients we serve. We work with our departments, faculty, and staff in planning, purchasing, setting up, and maintaining computer systems. We also serve as a primary point of contact for our departments linking them to the many other IT services ATLAS provides. A more detailed description of the service ATLAS provides is found in our Terms of Service.

If you're buying a new computer, need computer repair, or purchasing software, please clear those purchases with ATLAS Zone Manager first. In order to minimize purchasing and support costs, ATLAS arranges bulk purchases of computers and restricts support to specific makes & models.

ATLAS Care

ATLAS Care is a college-wide computer refresh program for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (LAS). Its primary goal is to ensure that LAS faculty and staff have reliable, up-to-date, and warrantied computers on a 6-year refresh cycle.

Most computers will be refreshed every six years, with exceptions made for special circumstances—most commonly when an employee is part of a negotiated contract group, such as NTFC.

ATLAS has secured special discount pricing on select desktop and laptop models. ATLAS Care funding is limited to these approved models, and the amount of available funding may vary from year to year.

Eligibility

To participate in ATLAS Care, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a full-time LAS faculty or staff member (minimum 50% LAS appointment)
  • Be using a primary computer that is six years old or older
