Amelie Lovato is a junior majoring in Communication. She heard about the ATLAS Internship Program through Instagram, and decided to join as there was a role available in the field of digital communications and graphic design which she enjoys, and because she desires to develop these skills. Amelie also found ATLAS as a great opportunity to collaborate with other UIUC students in order to ease into the practice of professional communication and teamwork.
Amelie works as a Communications Specialist intern on the ATLAS Communication Team. She is responsible for creating IT signs for the English building for the guidance of students and staff in the case of technical issues. She has also created a client spotlight for the Student Money Management Center for the ATLAS Instagram, and also made delivery signs for the English building to guide delivery drivers. Amelie has gained technical skills in graphic design and UI/UX. She has also developed her proficiency in communication, presentation, time management, teamwork, and problem solving.
From her experiences as an ATLAS intern, Amelie learned the importance of perfecting time management for not only herself as an individual, but also as a crucial part of working in a team. In her future career, Amelie is pursuing work in digital communication as well as arts and creative work through graphic design or advertisement. Outside of work, Amelie enjoys practicing art.
