Ethan Chen

Ethan Chen, a junior majoring in Econometrics and Statistics, embarked on his first U.S. internship with the ATLAS Internship Program to gain practical work experience and enhance his employability. He heard about the program from friends and classmates and saw it as an opportunity to bridge the gap between his theoretical knowledge and real-world applications. As a Process Improvement Specialist, Ethan worked with the ATLAS program and the nonprofit organization I-PAWS. Using FormBuilder, he transitioned workflows from paper-based to digital, enhancing speed and accuracy. He helped I-PAWS improve their documentation processes, allowing Officer Tara to better document her dog Huff's activities and generate reports. Additionally, Ethan designed a restaurant order form that automatically sends reminder emails to different security team members, streamlining tasks and reducing errors. Through his internship, Ethan mastered the FormBuilder system and developed skills in email communication, teamwork, and process efficiency. He gained valuable experience in form design, regular email communication with team members, and refining his resume with the career center's assistance. Ethan also learned the importance of meeting deadlines after exceeding one, a lesson that emphasized the need for timely task completion. Ethan's long-term career goal is to become a senior professional and leader in the financial industry. He aims to gain extensive experience in Business Intelligence to support strategic decision-making through data analytics and visualization techniques. Outside of his professional ambitions, Ethan enjoys traveling and dreams of visiting Scandinavia, New Zealand, and exploring the world.
