Melissa Dean is a sophomore who is studying English while also pursuing a minor in business. She learned about the program because her sister was a past intern and recommended it to her! Melissa is working with Tony Hillen, from the School of Social Work, as a software developer. She is developing a calendar app that will let people know if a certain room is booked or not, as well as what the schedule for each room is. Her goal is to have an iPad outside each room with the calendar app displayed as to lessen confusion and potentially end scheduling conflicts. She is currently undecided on what she wants to do in the future, but she is open to anything! Melissa has learned from her internship how important it is to have a set schedule, which helps her consistently address her position's responsibilities in a timely manner. Finally, Melissa’s favorite flavor of ice cream is chocolate!
