Shouqi Zhang is a senior studying statistics. She is currently working with the Student Money Management Center (SMMC) as a Data Analyst. Shouqi has been working with a team to find the unique financial challenges that international students face. She started with creating a survey for all the international students to fill out; after the students complete her survey, Shouqi and her team will take that data and analyze the results. She is hoping to discover the international student’s spending habits and behaviors. Shouqi is hoping that her and her team's research could be published in a journal once the project is finished. She is hoping to continue analyzing data in her future since she enjoys what she is doing so much. One thing she has learned from the ATLAS Internship Program is how to present in front of people more professionally. Her favorite part of ATLAS is the opportunity to work with real world data because in classes the data is more ‘clean’ and she likes to opportunity to work with ‘messy’ data. Shouqi favorite professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is Professor Alex because he constantly jokes around with the class and makes coming to class more exciting!
